Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 26, 2026
Nidori is built on a simple promise: your family's data is yours. We never sell it, we never run ads, and we never track you across other apps. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it. Questions? Email [email protected].
What Nidori collects
| Data | What it is | How it's used |
|---|---|---|
| Household data | Room types, cleaning intensity, member names and roles, pets | Build and maintain your schedule |
| Task activity | Tasks completed, timestamps, point values, streaks, completion rates | Powers the leaderboard and recaps |
| Dori conversations | Chat history (text) | Gives Dori context across sessions — processed by Anthropic, not used to train their models |
| Account information | Name, email, optional profile photo | Login and household membership |
| Usage diagnostics | Crash reports, performance data | Fix bugs — not linked to your identity |
| Task verification photos (coming soon) | When photo check-ins launch, photos are processed by Dori to confirm completion, then immediately deleted — never stored | Task verification |
Third-party services
- Anthropic (Claude API) — powers Dori's intelligence. Conversations are processed per Anthropic's privacy policy and are not used to train their models.
- On-device speech (Apple) — in the app, your spoken words are turned into text on your device using Apple's on-device speech recognition. Your voice recording never leaves your phone — it isn't sent to Nidori or any third party. (On this website, the "Talk to Dori" demo instead transcribes your spoken question via ElevenLabs; that demo audio is sent to ElevenLabs and isn't stored by us.)
- ElevenLabs — powers Dori's spoken voice (text-to-speech). It receives the text of Dori's replies (which can include a member's first name) to generate the audio — it never receives your voice recording. Under ElevenLabs' standard terms that text may be retained or used to improve their models; we're finalizing an agreement to prevent retention and training. See ElevenLabs' privacy policy.
- Supabase — database and authentication. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. SOC 2 certified.
- Apple In-App Purchase — payment processing for subscriptions. Card details stay with Apple and never touch Nidori's servers.
- RevenueCat — subscription management (tracks entitlement status; no card data).
- Expo — delivers push notifications (receives a device push token).
Our core commitments
- We never sell your data. Not now, not ever — it's not our business model.
- No ads, no ad networks, no cross-app tracking, no data mining.
- Chat history is saved to give Dori context, but you can turn it off or clear it anytime.
- Children under 13 are managed through a parent or guardian account, with the parent's consent — children don't have their own login. A child may talk to Dori: in the app their voice is transcribed on their device (the recording never leaves the phone), and only the resulting text runs the coaching feature. That text (which can include a first name) is processed by our AI providers — Anthropic (not used to train their models) and, for Dori's spoken replies, ElevenLabs (see above).
Your controls & deletion policy
- Download your data, clear chat history, or revoke consent at any time.
- Delete your account anytime (Privacy & Data → Delete my account).
- Deletion policy: a 30-day grace period to change your mind, after which all data is permanently removed from our servers.
Compliance
Nidori is built to comply with GDPR, CCPA, COPPA, and Apple's App Store Guidelines.
